Seychelles

Wednesday, 27th January

Weather, Hot and wet.

Our day started badly, our taxi driver took us to where we were supposed to catch a taxi boat the Marine reserve, sadly we found out from a local who phoned him that he was not coming. The taxi driver then suggested taking us to another beach from which we could snorkel. The ride took us through this lovely island, so green and lush.

The beach was clean, we headed off to some rocks to snorkel, unfortunately the weather turned bad and the current changed and we had a hard job getting back to shore.

Changing from our swim wear to dry clothes was a laugh....no change rooms and it was still raining. We then returned to the ship to drop off our gear and get a feed.

In the afternoon we walked to the Botanical Gardens so we could see the Giant tortoises. They are such wonderful large creatures, I am glad we had the chance to see them.

Australia Day. 26th January

Happy Birthday/Anniversary

The ship was a very festive place today. Decorations, Large Australia Day cakes, themed Trivia and sing longs made it a fun day.

Our table of ten tonight helped with the party atmosphere by coming to dinner wearing paper hats. Even our Head Waiter got into the act as you will see in the pictures. It was wonderful that they all joined the fun. As people were leaving the restaurant at the end of the meal many stopped by to comment on our attire. It was clear they were jealous they had not thought of having a hat party.

Male, MALDIVES.

Saturday, 23rd January.

Forecast, Sunny 31 degrees

The Maldives are renowned for their beaches and coral reefs. Ironically, there are no beaches on Male itself - the island is bordered by a seawall. The island is entirely covered in high-rise  buildings.

We did a Princess tour today to a resort island called Bandos Island, so we could snorkel. The resort looked wonderful and the beach was lovely. We could see the reef area not far off shore and the water was clear and calm.

We spent a wonderful 3 hours here with at least 2 of them in the water. The pictures will tell the story better than any words I could type.

I am typing this while we are confined to our rooms for a Pirate Drill.
