You can not take Indian Rupees into India. Weird.
December...So we can take Rupees but only max 25000. Law changed Jan 2015 but this site has conflicting info. http://www.cbec.gov.in If you look at travellers guide it says No to taking rupees into India but Customs circular 03/2015 Item #3. ii) may bring into India currency notes of Government of India and Reserve Bank of India notes up to an amount not exceeding Rs. 25,000 (Rupees twenty five thousand only) while entering only through an airport. (so can we or not) more investigating. News piece dated august 2015 comfirms we can. In addition, according to the new Customs declaration forms, the limit on Indian currency that passengers entering India can now carry without having to declare it has increased from Rs10,000 (Dh560) to Rs25,000 (Dh1,400), an increase of Rs15,000, or 150 per cent.

Plan to make use of the HOHO bus here. From research I have decided that we will get off the ship as quick as possible and go back a bus stop to the Aquarium which is stop #1...in the hope of less people lining up. At this 1st stop we can also purchase tickets, which are only $1 cheaper if bought online. Cable car ticket also available here. We will also get a ticket for the night tour at that time in case they have a limit. We will stay on the bus til we get to Table Mountain stop #7 and use the cable car to get to the top. After that hop back on the bus and play it by ear until 1730 hrs when we will need to be at stop #1 for the 1800 hrs Night tour. There is also a canal cruise of 25 minutes which we may be able to fit in.
Ticket Prices
1 day ticket R150...about $15
Night tour R100...about $10
Canal cruise R35...about $3.50
Cable Car R240. about $24 return
