Our arrival was delayed by about 6 hours today as we had to
deal with strong currents in the last few days.
The tour we were to take was due to depart at 9am, but was
thankfully rescheduled with the tour operator. We docked and met our driver by
2.30 pm. The Botanical Gardens, Natural History Museum, many Statues, churches
and significant buildings were included in our 3 hour tour of the city and
surrounds. Maputo was under Portuguese rule until 40 years ago and the
older buildings show case the Portuguese
architecture.
